Job description :


As the successful Assistant to the Financial and Development Director at our Refining & Marketing subsidiary in Nigeria, your duties will involve the following.

- Preparing the long-term plan and budget.

- Assisting subsidiary departments by analysing, codifying and correcting their fixed costs.

- Supporting local control-management teams.

- Preparing monthly reports to revalue foreign-currency exchange rates.

- Administrating SAP clearances, applying the responsibility-segregation principle, under Paris HQ guidance.

- Liaising with Paris HQ on a variety of issues.

VIE positions are available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28. More information regarding the VIE program can be found on www.civiweb.com.


Required skills :

Education :


A 5-year Business or Economics degree (from a business school or university) majoring in Finance.
Fluent English (+ French).

GE Oil & Gas is looking to recruit a Management Reporting Leader.

Role Summary/Purpose
The Role is required to support and assist the GBS Country Controller.
To provide support for all accounting activities of the shared service center in Nigeria.
This will include working with the teams to enhance operational excellence and drive compliance and controllership in the processes in the Center.

Essential Responsibilities
Achieve operational excellence in the Finance and Administration operations
Drive Controllership and Compliance for the GBS Center
Provide Financial and Administrative leadership to the GBS Center
Implement & maintain the financial rules, procedures & records to meet the GAAP, legal and tax requirements.
Ensuring proper compliance Local tax filing and reporting, corporate reporting, and Company polices
Preparation of budgets, periodical variance analysis and periodical reporting
Ensure the smooth operations of the accounting processes AP, Payroll, T&L, closing and reporting etc.
Support and participate in all accounting activities during the monthly/quarterly close, including the preparation of account reconciliations.
Participate in the monthly/quarterly reporting process to HQ and the business units.
Manage the query resolutions from all key stake holders
Organizes and plans auditing schedules.
Drive continuous process improvement in the accounting processes in the Center, including key controllership projects.
Identify key compliance & controllership metrics and drive improvement these metrics
Implementation of Six Sigma initiatives and provide similar quality services to internal/external customers

Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum of 7 years experience in a similar position and in managing people.
Professional Qualification CA, CPA, CIMA/CWA, MBA, ICAN, ACCA
Demonstrated ability to lead & motivate teams to achieve business goals.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously & prioritize workload
Project management & coaching experience will be an asset.
Ability to influence without authority and work collaboratively in a team.
Relationship Building & Networking Skills with internal organization and customers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Shell Nigeria: Oil Spills Compensation

Shell companies have been exploring for and producing hydrocarbons for over a century.

Today, we have interests in exploration and production ventures in more than 39 countries and employ approximately 19,000 staff (not including contractors).

SPDC is is currently looking to recruit an Oil Spills Compensation Adviser for our Warri office.

Responsibilities:
In this role you will supervise the assessment, valuation, negotiation and payment of all oil spills/damage claims required for the respective SPDC operational area(s) in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet projects targets / schedules and ensure prompt resolution of oil spills/damage claims demands and disputes in order to avoid disruptions to company operations and improve relations with its host communities.
Support the development and implementation of strategies for dispute resolution and pre-empting conflicts / litigations on spills claims compensation payment matters in order to reduce the Company’s contingent liability and / or defend / mange litigations arising from spills claims compensation payment issues.
Develop and implement strategies and policies for oil spills compensation and its integration in the entire Oil Spill Management programme of the company
Execute in a timely and cost-effective manner the assessment and payment of compensation claims for spills arising from SPDC operations in the area(s) to meet project targets / schedules.
Interface with Community Relations, the Pipelines Organisation, Asset teams, the Survey team and external consultants to successfully execute field verification and assessment activities.
Identify and sensitise claimants and maintain contacts with relevant stakeholders including Government Agencies, Community Opinion Leaders, Claims Agents, NGOs, etc. preparatory to the field verification / assessment exercise
Provide support to Legal Department on litigations related to payment of compensation for spill/damage claims and may be required to attend court procedures.

Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience
Must possess Bachelors in Estate Management (Minimum of Second Class Lower division) and be an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Valuers and Surveyors.
A Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Sciences/Management will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated ability to be creative, analytical, imaginative with a high level of high integrity to the discharge of duties.Must be an excellent team player possessing good Leadership, multidisciplinary team and networking skills and the capacity to tolerate a high-pressure work environment.
Good understanding of the challenges of the physical environment of the Niger Delta Region.
Excellent understanding of relevant Laws, policies and Practices governing Compensation in Nigeria.
Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities

The Job: The appointee will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned plants on a shift basis.

The duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Operate the process and service units within the prescribed limits to achieve production targets for quality and quantity, safely and efficiently
* Execute on a daily basis, routine and non-routine operation for the assigned area due care to implement all HSE consideration for the activity
* Prepare equipments for maintenance in accordance with appropriate procedures
* Participate in shutdowns
* Respond to plant process changes and upsets to that loss of production is kept at a minimum
* Manage process and service unit’s stat-up and shutdowns competently without affecting units that are to remain online
* Undertake constant evaluation of plant-operating procedures and control systems
* Ensure effective start- of-shift orientation and shift handover

The right candidate should:

* Possess a higher diploma HND in chemical, process, industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering, obtained at a minimum of upper credit
* Have not more than 3 years post graduation work experience
* Be able to demonstrate proficiency in information technology
* Possess good communication problem solving skills
* Not more than 28 years old

Having recently been established in the country, they are now looking for skilled local Oil & Gas professionals to assist them further develop their plans in the exploring, producing and distributing of natural gas.

They are hiring for a Senior Geologist, to be based in Nigeria.

This role is for a Senior Geologist to join the team as part of a new exploration department. The role itself will cover all aspects of Geology including technical studies on fields, discoveries and prospects to include the evaluation of current fields.

You will also participate in technical and operations meetings at various locations throughout Europe. You will also be involved with the co-ordination of studies focused at reservoir architecture understanding and volumetric estimation.

Skills and Experience

The ideal Senior Geologist will have at least 8 years of post graduate experience from either an operating or consultancy background.

You should have significant hands on technical experience with this experience coming ideally from West Africa.

You should have experience of 3D modelling along with clastic and carbonate reservoir Geology experience. In terms of software you should be able to use a variety of formats including PETREL.
